Autumn arrives in style at East of England Showground
FROM animal antics to record-breaking giant vegetables - there was something for everyone at the ever-popular Peterborough Autumn Show.
An estimated 10,000 visitors from around the region, and exhibitors from all over the country helped to notch up another successful event at the East of England Showground.
There were no shortage of attractions or entertainment during the day, which included a variety of dog events, the Wisbech Shire Horse Show, Pony Club team show jumping and exhibitions of rare breed cattle, sheep, pigs and goats.
This year also saw the arrival of the Supreme London Championships Small Livestock Show - billed as the ‘rabbit world’s equivalent of Crufts’ – which moved its show to Peterborough from the capital.
And growers from around the country pitted their wits against each other for the biggest, best and heaviest vegetables. Exhibits included the recently grown world record-breaking swede (85.62lbs) and onion (18lbs).
