Snow-joke – Christmas comes early to Peterborough Showground
JUNE in Peterborough can only mean one thing – eating ice-cream in the sunshine, admiring livestock from around the region, tucking into tasty summer food – and snowmen!
No, the sun wasn’t shining too brightly in the eyes of the thousands of visitors to East of England Show over the weekend, there really was a giant snowman mingling with the crowds.
The creative team at Exec Peterborough believe that it’s never too early to get in the Chrismassy mood – particularly when planning your office party for the festive season.
Hollie Ward, Exec Peterborough account manager, said: “The Snowman was a great stunt to drum up some support for the Exec Peterborough Snow Ball this December at the great venue we have here at the showground.
“We may well be in the middle of summer, but planning a Christmas party for many businesses starts right now – and we are able to offer the complete package for a fabulous festive night out.”
Enquiries for the event have snowballed since its announcement, with more than 50 tickets already being snapped up.
The Snow Ball (10 December) includes sparkling wine on arrival, a three-course festive dinner, live band and DJ and a chance to ride the slopes with ski and snowboard simulators.
And anyone booking a table of 10 before 1 September 2011 will receive two free bottles of wine.
